Under The Canadian Copyright Act any viewing or exhibition of a film in a public place (schools are considered public places) must have Public Performance Rights. P.P.R. rights can be added into the cost of the film at the time of purchase. Public Performance Rights are inculded in the price of your copy of Pay Your Interns! 

 

If a school has a circulating film library, a student can take a title home to view and then return it to the school. Please be aware that if this policy is in place, the Blu-ray/DVD label must indicate that it is a home use loan copy only. Not doing so is a violation of copyright. Individual students, groups of students, or entire classes cannot view a video which is labeled for home use loan at school. Educational Institutions are only exempt from Public Performance Rights when a title is shown for educational purposes, in a classroom setting, as part of the curriculum.
